I live in Madison, WI with my husband and daughters. Between work and family and pet wrangling I occasionally find time to do a little cooking and blogging.
Well-Cookbooked is my attempt to defend my irrational love of cookbooks.
Why "Well-Cookbooked"?
Whether it's because I'm well-endowed with books for cooks or because I like eating well or because I'm a good cook (erm, that last idea is probably not it...) I am interested in healthy meals I can make for my family, and I adore finding new recipes that sound delicious.
Indeed, there's nothing I like more than buying a new cookbook. Unfortunately, I've found my impulse to buy the books and read through the recipes hasn't resulted in a complementary desire to rush to the kitchen and whip something up. Hence, I have an ever growing collection of cookbooks in pristine condition from which nothing has ever been cooked.
I'm writing this blog to challenge myself: I intend to cook at least five things (and hopefully more) from each and every cookbook I own, report on the recipe and, depending upon how the experiment turns out, either continue buying cookbooks and using them or check myself into recipe rehab and live with the shame of failure...
I purchased yet another cookbook last week and realized that I'd better begin this cookbook exercise of mine or I'll be too busy buying new bookshelves to hold my ginormous collection to ever have time to actually *gasp* cook anything.
What a great challenge! I am looking forward to reading your posts and seeing how the recipes come out!
